Limeni, the Mavromichali’s family erstwhile settlement, is one of the most beautiful and traditional coastal village of Mani. Located in just 5 km from Areopoli and approximately 27 km from Gythion. The village is very picturesque and of a unique beauty as it combines harmoniously the sea and the unique landscape.

Near the cemetery you can enjoy the best sunset as the sun dives into the deep blue sea. Here you will find a small climbing field with great view.

Limeni is very famous for the quality of the fish taverns. If you like lobster you should definetely try the famous local dish spaghetti with lobster. In the region you will find also a smaller type of Lobster, which is called Kolohtypa, because it hits (htypa) its bottom (kolo) and it is considered to be tastier than the lobster.

In Limeni you can hire a boat to take you around the Peninsula of Mani or rent a SUP and other water sports equipment.

Near Limeni, at the Oitylo beach,you will find the only beach in the area where you can surf.

If you travel with a camper it is better to leave the camper on the main street, before turning towards Limeni, as it will be difficult to pass or turn back.
